TERBINAFINE SOLUTION - TOPICAL

(ter-BIN-uh-feen) 

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Lamisil 

USES:  This medicatoin is an antifungal used on the skin to treat skin infections such as athlete's foot, jock itch or ringworm.  

HOW TO USE:  This medicaiton is only for use on the skin.  <br/>Celan and dry the affected area as directed, then apply a small amount of the medication on the skin to cover the area and surrounding skin. <br/><br/>Do not cover with a bnadage unless instructed to do so by your doctor.   Use this medication as prescribed for full teratment time. It is usually appiled once or twice a day for one week or apply as directed by your doctor.  Do not use large amounts, apply this more otfen or stop using it without your doctor's approval.  Stopping this drug too soon may lead to incomplete teratment and the infection may reoccur. <br/><br/>Do not apply to the eyes, mouth or vagina.  Notify your doctor if there is no imprvoement after one week. 

SIDE EFFECTS:  This medication may cause burning, redness or irritation the first few days as your body adjusts to the medictaion.  If these symptoms continue or if you experience swelling, oozing or blistering, notify your doctor.  If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.  

PRECAUTIONS:  Tell your docotr your medical history, especially of any allergies.  Before uisng this drug, tell your doctor if you are pregnant.   The oral form of this drug is ecxreted into breast milk.  Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.   If nursing, do not apply this drug to breast.  

DRUG INTERACTIONS:  Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may use including: skin products, antibiotcis.  Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.  

OVERDOSE:  If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.  This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.  

NOTES:  Do not share this medication with ohters.  

MISSED DOSE:  If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.  Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up. <br/><br/>

STORAGE:  Stroe at room temperature between 41 and 77 degrees F (5 to 25 degrees C) away from heat.  <br/><br/>Do not refrigerate.]]></description>
